For the longest time, I questioned myself.

Was I wrong to not chase what 99% of the world does?
Working non stop.
Partying hard.
Spending money on alcohol, luxury, and shiny things.

While I kept choosing mountains.
Oceans.
Quiet.
Nature.

I wondered if I was sacrificing too much.
Money.
Stability.
Peace of mind.

But the more I sit here, surrounded by what we were actually built for, the clearer it feels.

Maybe I am part of the 1%.
But this is my 1%.
And it gives me a kind of happiness nothing else ever did.

I felt the pure freedom to just exist as a woman in Mizoram. Walking late at night without doing that constant “safety scan” is a feeling I wish every woman in India could have. That comfort comes from a culture built on deep respect.

And this isn’t just about safety; it’s about equality. Mizoram has always been far more egalitarian than most parts of India — and you feel it instantly.
